A Murder Mystery

Do you like watching crime television shows?  Do you have a favorite?  Was it an oldie like Perry Mason, Columbo, or Murder She Wrote?  Perhaps it’s a newer show such as NCIS, Law & Order: SVU, or Cold Case?  Maybe you like watching Dateline Tonight with Keith Morrison as they unravel at twisted murder plot.  Seems we are fascinated with murder mysteries.  Who did it?  How did they do it?  How did they cover their tracks?  It does make for interesting television.  I guess it stretches our imagination.

This Sunday’s passage from Mark is all about a murder mystery.  But in this case, the question is not: “Who done it?”  But rather, “What does it mean?”  We know who killed Jesus.  The Bible tells us that.  Rather, the killing of Jesus is mysterious because of its significance.  The sky darkens in the middle of the day, Jesus declares God forsakes him, the temple curtain is torn in two, a Roman soldier makes a stunning confession.  What do these clues tell us about Jesus?  What’s going on at the moment Christ died?

Join us Sunday as we go back in time to visit the crime scene of Jesus death!  We’ll examine six clues to this “murder mystery” with incredible significance for our lives.  Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature the same intriguing biblical message, lively worship, warm friends, and the healing presence of the Holy Spirit.  Nursery provided.  Refreshments available.  Newcomers expected and welcome.  Please join us with your family and friends!
