Experience new life in Christ.

At one time or another in our lives, most all of us come to a point of realizing that we were created for something more – something greater than our earthly existence. We come to a point of realizing that the lives we have made for ourselves are not fulfilling our deepest needs or satisfying our souls. This is often a very painful time. But it is also a very wonderful time! For it means that God’s Spirit is working in you to make you aware of your need for God. God is calling you to Himself, to experience new life in Jesus Christ filled with abundance, blessings, peace, and joy!

Jesus said:

“I am the bread of life.  He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty”
–John 6:35

“I have come so that you might have life and have it abundantly”
–John 10:10

Wow! What wonderful promises for those of us who are looking for something deeper in life! Jesus can meet our deepest needs and satisfy our inner-most longings! And best news of all: God has made it possible for you to experience this new life in Christ!

Here are some important truths and Scriptures to consider in discovering how you can personally experience new life in Christ.  Perhaps God is calling you to experience this new life today!

01—God who is good, loving, and merciful, has created you to experience a deeply meaningful and enjoyable relationship with Him, receiving his blessings and abundance into your life on a daily basis.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
—Genesis 1:27

“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”
—Genesis 12:2

“I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you….and I will be their God.”
—Genesis 17:7-8

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him…Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
—Psalm 34:8-10

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
—Psalm 37:4

02—Since we choose to ignore God and live life on our own terms, our sin (turning away from God) has damaged our relationship with God and keeps us from experiencing the abundant life God wishes to grant us. In fact, sin separates you from God.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
—Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death.”
—Romans 6:23

“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
—Isaiah 59:2

“The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.  The Lord was grieved that he had made man on earth, and his heart was filled with pain.”
—Genesis 6:5-6

03—Because God loves you so much and wants you to experience his goodness and blessings, he has created a way for our relationship with Him to be restored. Jesus Christ was sent to earth to bridge the gap between God and people and to die in order to pay the penalty for your sins. Jesus Christ is the only means by which you can experience new life with God.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
—John 3:16

“I have come so that they might have life and have it abundantly.”
—John 10:10

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
—John 14:6

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
—Acts 4:12

04—You can now personally experience a restored relationship with God and new life in Christ by exercising faith in Jesus Christ even today. Here are three things to believe in order to be restored to your Creator God and enjoy his loving blessings in your life:

Recognize that your sin separates you from God. No one is perfect and holy like our God. Even the best of us are sinners before Him.

“There is no one righteous, not even one.”
—Romans 3:20

“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way.”
—Isaiah 53:6

“If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
—1 John 1:9

Realize that Jesus Christ, sent from God, is the only way to be restored in your relationship with your loving Creator.

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”
—1 Peter 3:18

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
—2 Corinthians 5:21

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.  And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.”
—Romans 8:1-4

Receive Jesus into your life through faith, allowing his Spirit to renew your life and give you peace, joy, and hope for tomorrow!

“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
—John 1:12

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
—Romans 10:9

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”
—Ephesians 2:8-9

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
—Galatians 5:22

05—If the Holy Spirit has convicted you of your need to experience the new life with God that Jesus Christ makes possible, please be invited to pray the following prayer:

Dear God, though you intended that I live in harmony with you, I am now separated from you because of my sin. I have tried to live life on my own terms and ignored your love and grace. I confess my sin to you and ask that you take it away. I want to live in relationship with you and to experience the abundant life Jesus came to give me. I believe Jesus Christ died to remove my sins and to restore me into friendship with you. And, I accept the living Christ as my Friend, Savior, and the Leader of my new life. Thank you for hearing my prayer and giving me the gift of a joyful, abundant, and eternal life with you. Help me now to live my life in a way that pleases you and to find supportive Christian friends. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Bible says:

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
—2 Corinthians 5:17
