Planting Seeds

Spring has sprung!  I know the calendar said that a few weeks ago, but I do believe it is finally beginning to actually feel like Spring.  And do you know what that means?  Planting season is upon us!  Farmers will soon be in the fields planting corn and soybeans.  People with “green thumbs” will soon be planting daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, and dahlias among other flowers.  Many of us will soon be planting vegetable gardens of green beans, sweet corn, radishes, carrots, and lettuce.

I love Spring.  I Iove planting things even though I’ve never had much of a “green thumb.”   But aside from crops, flowers, and vegetables, there’s another type of planting we do.  As Christians, we are constantly planting seeds of love and grace and Good News.  Jesus told many parables about sowing seeds and how we must do so in order to advance the Kingdom of God.  The Kingdom may start small like a mustard seed, but it will eventually grow large and lush as seeds sprout and grow.

What a joy to collaborate with God and Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) in this planting and growing process of the Kingdom of God!  This Sunday, we welcome Joshua Harrison, one of the directors of ASM and a representative to our church, into our midst all the way from Michigan.  Joshua will report and share with us how our mission dollars are making a difference.  His message, “God Multiplies the Harvest,” will highlight God’s working in our world and encourage your heart and soul!

Join us Sunday, April 14, at the service of your choice for this very inspiring time of worship and sharing!  Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature the same biblical message, heart-felt worship, warm friends, and the Holy Spirit’s healing presence in our midst.  Nursery and Busy Bags are provided for children.  Refreshments will be served between services for all.  Join us for worship.  Join us for lunch out with Joshua following the second service!
