Redeeming Failure

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions for 2024?  We’re nearing the end of January now.  How are you doing in keeping those resolutions?  I started a new 31-day diet for the month of January.  The good news?  I have a already lost 26 days!  :)  Truth is, we tend to make fewer New Year’s resolutions as we age.  I think the reason is we have failed to keep so many of our past resolutions.  Why put yourself through all the guilt and shame of failing again?  Apparently, will-power is not enough.

What is enough, however, is the amazing grace of God!  This Sunday as we continue our Journey to the Cross series and study of the Gospel of Mark, we come across Jesus’ prediction of Peter’s denial (Mark 14:27-31).  Jesus predicted Peter would deny him.  Peter emphatically declared he would never deny Jesus.  However, Peter did deny Jesus and the rest of the disciples fell away.  So much for good intentions!  Yet there’s more.  There’s grace.  There’s second chances.  There’s forgiveness.

Join us this Sunday, January 28, as we unpack and explore this theme further.  How do you deal with personal failure?  How do cope with your struggles and sins?  How do you grow past brokenness to a place of wholeness before God and others?  In a world where many are falling away from God and their faith, how do we as believers stand strong in the face of trials, tribulations, and temptations?  If you ever struggle with sin, guilt, shame, and personal failure, this Sunday’s message is just for you!

Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature the same biblical message, inspiring worship, welcoming friends, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst.  A nursery and Busy Bags are available for children.  Refreshments will be served between the services.  Visitors and newcomers are expected.  Please join us with your family and friends and forward this email as an invitation to others.  Let’s meet with God this Sunday!
