A God Who Heals

Do you long for a miracle?  Do you long for God to touch you with his healing power?  Is there a family member or loved one of yours who desperately needs a touch of grace?  The good news is:  We have a God who heals!  No, not every disease and every problem are going to be healed and resolved in this life.  The Bible promises that one day all sin, disease, death, and mourning will be wiped away when we reach our heavenly home.  But when the healing does come in this life, a great celebration is in order!

This Sunday will be like no other in the history of Grace Church as we give praise where praise is due and celebrate our beloved member Ron Opperman’s healing and recovery from cancer, COVID, and open-heart surgery!  It was late 2021 that Ron was diagnosed with cancer and was told he would face six, 21-day cycles of intense chemotherapy followed by more treatments.  On top of this, it was discovered Ron needed an open-heart surgery and so he underwent a triple by-pass last July!

Yet, through it all, God has been faithful!  Today, Ron is cancer-free and recovering nicely from his heart surgery.  He’s even back to playing guitar again in our praise band.  The Psalmist exhorts us to: “Tell of all God’s wonderful acts!”  And, that is exactly what we are going to do this coming Sunday morning at Grace Church!  In fact, in an interview format and in lieu of my preaching, we’re going to let Ron and his family tell the story of how God worked and healed in his life over these past nine months.

It’s going to be a Sunday you will not want to miss!  In fact, anyone who is longing for healing or facing their own treatments will be tremendously encouraged by Ron’s testimony.  Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Ron and family will share at both services.  And Ron will also finally be installed to the office of elder at both services.  A nursery is provided, and refreshments will be available between services.  Join us Sunday and be inspired in your faith!
