Finding the Right Gate

I’ve had the privilege of doing some flying in my life.  I’ve flown to places such as Miami, Canada, the Virgin Islands, Cambodia, the Philippines, California, and Hawaii to name a few of my more exotic trips.  I enjoy flying.  But navigating airports can be a bit challenging at times – especially if I have to make a tight connecting flight.  One of the most important aspects of flying is finding the right gate on time.  If you’re at the wrong gate, you may not get to your destination!

Jesus says in John 10:7-9: “I AM the gate for the sheep … whoever enters through me will be saved.”  There are a lot of so-called “gates” to salvation these days.  Some believe it comes through religion, by being a good person, or through worldly wealth, power, and pleasure.  But Jesus says, I am the only way to God.  I AM the Gate you must pass through in order to be saved.  Have you found the Gate of Jesus?  Have you entered the Gate of Jesus?  What does this even mean?

Join us Sunday as we continue our “Who is Jesus?” sermon series with the third ‘I AM’ statement of Jesus as recorded by John!  We’ll take a close look at this statement and discover three important functions of Jesus, the Gate for the Sheep.  I promise this message will bring you comfort and assurance in the midst of our crazy and chaotic world.  Do you ever wonder if you are really saved?  Do you sometimes fear for the future?  If so, this week’s message is just for you!

Worship begins at 10:00 AM.  And, everyone – young and old – is invited!  The message will inspire you.  The worship will lift your soul.  The fellowship will warm you.  And the healing presence of the Holy Spirit will touch your heart.  A Children’s Church and nursery space are offered for children.  Refreshments will be served following worship.  Men will gather to pray.  And, our Easter drama practice will begin at 12:00 noon following the morning worship.  Visitors expected!
