Forever Friends
Years ago, singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith had a hit song entitled, “Friends.” A key line in the song was “Friends are friends forever if the Lord’s the Lord of them.” If you’re old enough, you might remember the song. It had a beautiful tune, was very singable, popular among Christians, and spoke deeply about the power of God which binds all believers together – not only in this life, but in the life to come. In Jesus, friends can indeed be friends forever!
This Sunday, April 21, we continue our study of the Apostles Creed in earnest by focusing on our belief in “the communion of saints.” What does it mean? Who are the saints? What kind of communion are we talking about? And, what does it have to do with being friends forever? I’m so excited to share with you seven terrific reasons why this doctrine is not just good news, but great news! And, why does this core doctrinal truth of our faith matter so much today?
Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and will include the singing of some of the great hymns of our faith, including a toe-tapping hymn sing led by guitars and our acoustic trio. Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM and includes lively singing, also led by our acoustic combo. Both services feature heart-felt worship, an inspiring message, warm friends, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. It’s going to be a great Sunday. Please plan to join us!
Together in Christ,
Pastor Dave Van Netten
