Finding Forgiveness
Finding Forgiveness
Have you ever been “at odds” with someone? Husbands, maybe you were in the “doghouse” with your wife because you forgot her birthday, or your anniversary. Wives, your husband became upset because you put a scratch in the new car. Kids, didn’t do your chores and both parents are angry with you. Or, perhaps we offended a friend or fellow church member with something we said or did. Truth is, we’ve all let others down and even hurt loved ones.
Now imagine the world of hurt we have caused God through our sins and shortcomings over the years. Truth is, we’ve all fallen short of God’s perfect, holy standard. Not one of us is perfect. We are all guilty of breaking God’s law and offending His people. The question is: How do we make amends? Can we make amends? Is there forgiveness? The Good News is that our Savior is coming to town this Palm Sunday. There is forgiveness; and it can be found in Jesus Christ!
Join the celebration this Palm Sunday as we recognize the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem and also into our lives. We’ll consider the phrase, “the forgiveness of sins,” as we continue our study of the Apostles’ Creed. And, we’ll look ahead to the work of Jesus on the cross as Holy Week begins. Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM. Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM. Please join us at the service of your choice, or watch/listen through our new web site later in the day.
Perhaps you are struggling with sin in your life. Maybe there’s a bad habit you just can’t seem to kick. Or, you find yourself overwhelmed with guilt over mistakes you’ve made. If so, this Sunday’s message is just for you! It’s also the last Sunday to place your order for Easter lilies for just $8.00 each. Please join us for this important time of worship, friendship, and inspiration in the Spirit as we begin Holy Week. Come, be renewed in the presence of God and others!
Sincerely in Christ,
Pastor Dave Van Netten
