From Every Nation, Tribe, & People

It’s been said the most divided time in America is the Sunday morning worship hour.  We work, study, play, eat, and relate to peoples of various ethnicities all week long.  But so often on Sunday mornings, we retreat to our segregated houses of worship.  White people worship here.  Black people worship there.  The Asians have their own service in the large room down the hall.  And, people of brown skin color worship in the building down the street.  It’s kind of sad really.

Contrast this to John’s vision of heavenly worship in Revelation 7:9: “After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”  It is an amazing picture of unity, of multicultural worship - people of all races, skin colors, and languages worshipping the one Lord Jesus!

This Sunday at Grace Church, we’re going to experience a little taste of this heavenly multicultural worship!  The local black gospel group, “Clarence Williams & The Rising Sons” will present a concert of worship and testimony for our morning worship.  It’s been quite a few years since we’ve welcomed the group to Grace Church, but this Sunday is the Sunday!  It’s going to be an energetic service of worship and praise.  It may stretch you.  It may challenge you.  And it will be good!

The worship concert begins at 10:00 AM.  A nursery space and Busy Bags are available for children.  Unless there’s a high demand, we will not have Children’s Church this Sunday so all the children and volunteers can join us for the concert.  The worship will be lively and uplifting.  The sanctuary will be full of loving people.  The Holy Spirit’s healing presence will be moving in our midst.  Refreshments will be served for all following.  Please invite a friend and plan to join us!
