Hosanna in the Highest!

It was some 2000 years ago that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a humble donkey.  It was a triumphal entry into the Holy City complete with crowds of fans, worshippers, shouts of praise, singing, and the waving of palm branches along the parade route.  Many believed their Messiah King had come to set his people free.  Yet, how quickly the mood changed when Jesus abruptly overturned tables in the temple, chased out the money changers, and upset business as usual.

Churches around the world will celebrate Palm Sunday this week.  It is a time for celebration, singing, and worship of Jesus, the Messiah.  But it is also a time for self-examination.  What habits, practices, or things would Jesus want to overturn today?  Would there be certain behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes in me that would upset him?  How might Jesus upset our “business as usual” lives?  Palm Sunday is a time for joyous celebration to be sure.  But it is also a time for change.

This Sunday, Grace Church will celebrate Palm Sunday in grand fashion – with the singing of hymns and songs, the waving of palm branches, and the worship of King Jesus.  But we will also consider ways our lives become upset and change.  Sunday’s message comes to us in the form of a testimony and interview with my childhood friend, Cal Boeve, & his wife Pam.  Cal’s life was upset one year ago with a diagnosis of stage four liver cancer.  How is Cal doing?  How is he making it?

Join us Sunday for this unique service and message, highlighting God’s faithfulness!  The worship will be uplifting.  The message inspiring.  The atmosphere vibrant.  Newcomers will be welcome.  And, the Holy Spirit will be moving in our midst, healing hearts and reviving lives.  A Children’s Church and Nursery are provided children.  Refreshments will be served following worship.   And men will meet for heartfelt prayer.  All are invited.  All are welcome.  We’re expecting you!
