Keeping Your Eye on the Ball
Whether it’s playing baseball, tennis, ping pong, pickle ball, golf, soccer, or football – the coach will often say: “Keep your eye on the ball!” If you want to hit a homerun, kick the ball into the goal, drive the ball straight, make a good hit, or catch a pass for a touchdown, you better keep your eye on the ball. Most anyone can tell you that that’s the main thing when it comes to playing ball sports. But what’s the main thing when it comes to our faith? What did Jesus declare as vitally important for success with God?
The presence and power of God is waiting for you this Sunday as we gather at Grace Church. We continue our sermon series, “When Kingdoms Collide,” by examining Jesus’ ongoing confrontation with the Jewish religious leaders in Mark 7. Apparently, the Pharisees had failed to “keep their eye on the ball.” They missed the main thing. Jesus makes three assertions about what that main thing is, challenging their traditions and understanding of Scripture. “The Main Thing” is a message you will not want to miss!
Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and features hymn singing by organ accompaniment. Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM and features worship led by our “Spirit of Grace” praise band. Both services include heart-felt praises, a biblical message of encouragement, warm friends, and the healing hand of the Holy Spirit in our midst. A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. Refreshments will be served between services. It’s going to be a great Sunday at Grace Church. See you there!
