Raising Godly Kids Today

I cannot imagine a more difficult task than raising godly kids in today’s world!  I’m not a parent; but I feel for those who are.  Having worked with children and youth for countless years as a pastor, I often get a window into the world of kids, families, and parenting.  Cultural changes, social media, cell phones, racing hormones, internet usage, and even COVID all pose significant challenges to kids and parents alike.  The task can seem overwhelming.  But the good news is, God our Father provides support to parents!

With the help of a few concepts from Pastor Rick Warren’s series on “Raising Kids Without Raising Your Blood Pressure,” I will take the opportunity this Sunday to encourage parents by sharing the four critical tasks of parenting to raise kids that are healthy, mature, and growing in Jesus.  But this teaching isn’t just for parents; it’s for all adults and church members who take their baptismal vows seriously and want to reach the next generation for God.  Could you use a little support in raising and reaching kids for Christ?

Please join your Grace Church family and friends this Sunday morning, October 3, as we continue our Standing Tall in Stressful Times sermon series with my message entitled, “Parenting for Growth.”   Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM, and contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  We also get to celebrate the Sacrament of Communion in connection with World-Wide Communion Sunday.  Pre-packaged communion elements will be distributed to individuals as you enter the sanctuary.  Come, be refreshed!

Men are invited to a delicious breakfast this Saturday, October 2, beginning at 9:00 AM in our Fellowship Hall as we resume our monthly Men’s Breakfasts with a time of food, fellowship, and faith-building.  Women are invited to the first regular meeting of our “Women of Joy” Bible study also this Saturday, meeting at 1:00 PM as they begin a study of women of the Bible.  Many great things are happening this weekend at Grace Church.  We’d love for you to experience God’s blessings with us.  Invite your family and friends!
