When Life Hurts
You don’t have to live many years to know that life in this world is broken and troubled. From accidents, broken relationships, the loss of loved-ones, tragedies, to broken-down cars and appliances. Seems there is always something going wrong. Jesus was absolutely right when he said in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble.” Trouble with a capital “T” seems to be lurking around every corner. The question is: How do we deal with these troubles and hardships? Do life’s hurts make us bitter, or better?
Join me and your friends at Grace Church this Sunday, October 10 as we continue our series Standing Tall in Stressful Times. There’s a lot of stress in our world, but how do we remain strong and rooted in Jesus when faced with hardship, grief, and loss? My message, “Persevering for Growth,” based on Hebrews 12 will reveal three “words” of encouragement to keep you moving forward and growing in God throughout the grief and pains of life. It’s a message for those who hurt. It’s a message for all us. Don’t miss!
Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM. Refreshments will be served for all between the services in our Fellowship Hall. Busy Bags are available in the sanctuary for children during the services as well as an unattended nursery room. Both services feature the same inspiring message from God’s Word, heart-felt worship, warm friends, and the healing reviving power of the Holy Spirit in our midst. If you are looking for renewal and hope, please join us this Sunday.
The “Discovery Class” for those considering membership at Grace Church along with any young person desiring to make a public profession of their faith in Jesus also begins this Sunday. We’ll meet between services in the adult Sunday school room of our education wing from 10:05-10:40 AM. The class is informal, a lot of fun, informative, and a great way to learn more about Grace Church and our ministry. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. There’s no obligation to become a member by attending the class.
As you can see, it’s going to be another Spirit-filled weekend at Grace Church. Please join us and don’t miss another exciting movement of God in our midst. We are a place where ordinary people experience God’s extraordinary grace. Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s moving in our midst. Plan to join us, prepare your heart, and invite a friend. See you Sunday!
