God is Working!

A couple of summers ago, I took a “Wild West” vacation out to the Black Hills of South Dakota and then on to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.  I had a great time admiring God’s handiwork in creation and seeing amazing geological features along with beautiful wildlife.  But on the trip home I took a long winding road out of Wyoming.  After hours of driving through mountain passes, navigating hairpin curves, and up and down hills, I wondered if I would ever make it back to the highway!

Spiritual journeys are often like that.  Getting from point A to point B is seldom a straight line.  It’s usually filled with twists, turns, switch-backs, ups and downs, and even detours.  Yet, the amazing thing is that God is working at every turn.  His presence and power can often be felt even in the valleys and seeming “dead-ends” of our spiritual growth.  We may not be all that we could be or should be; but at least we are not what we used to be.  Praise God!  We are all a work in progress.  God hasn’t given up on you!

Join your family and friends at Grace Church this Sunday as we conclude our series on spiritual growth, Standing Tall in Stressful Times.  My message, “Praising for Growth,” will celebrate how far we’ve all come in our spiritual journey toward Christlike maturity and godliness.  We’ll consider three specific reasons why we can all praise God and give thanks for the work God is doing in our lives no matter where you are on your personal journey.  Please bring a friend and prepare to be blessed and encouraged!

Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature the same biblical message, inspiring worship, warm friends, and the healing power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst.  An unattended nursery space and Busy Bags are available for children.  Beverages and refreshments will be offered in the Fellowship Hall between services.  A video of the service will be posted later in the day on YouTube and Facebook.  May God’s Spirit move mightily in our midst!
