Welcome Ron & Amelia!

I am near-sighted.  I had to wear my first pair of “geeky glasses” when I was in junior high.  In high school I got my first pair of contact lens.  I have worn them ever since, increasing the prescription over the years for my diminishing vision.  Without contact lens, I would not be able see well.  As I age, I am gradually becoming even more near-sighted.  My lens allow me to see far and see clearly.  My lens allow me to keep a fresh perspective on life around me.  Praise God for the benefits of modern vision care!

Too often, the local church in America struggles with being near-sighted.  Not in terms of physical vision, but in terms of what we see of the Kingdom of God.  Our view is focused on our little church, what’s happening around us, our local problems and issues.  Thus, our view of the global Church and what God is doing in the world is limited.  That’s why it is so good for us to hear stories of God’s working in other places and with other peoples.   We need to “correct” our vision to see farther and more broadly.

Join your friends at Grace Church this Sunday, October 15 as we welcome long-time, faithful missionaries Ron & Amelia Den Hartog into out midst at a 10:00 AM combined and musically blended service of worship.  Ron & Amelia will extend our vision by sharing stories of how God has moved through their lives and respective ministries in Columbia and with Latinos in the greater Omaha area.  Ron and Amelia have been missionaries supported by Grace Church for 40 years now and are making a profound difference for Jesus!

Not only will we be encouraged with food for the soul, but also with food for your stomach as we enjoy a good old-fashioned church potluck following the service in our Fellowship Hall.  Please bring a dish of food to share, if you can.  Beverages and table service will be provided.  A nursery will also be available during the worship service.  A warm welcome, warm friends, a heart-warming message, and warm food await you this Sunday at Grace Church.  Plan now to join us along with your family and friends!
