Mental Health
Mental health is at the forefront of conversation in America today. And for good reason … According to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year; 1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year; 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year; 50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24; and suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-14.
Unfortunately, the statistics for Christians are not that different. Apparently, we all struggle with the challenges of mental health. Thankfully, God has given His people some help. There are specific things we can do to have a healthy and holy mind in a world filled with anxiety, fear, depression, temptation, and panic. There is hope among the hopelessness. Your brain is not a “runaway train.” God and His Word gives us tools and tips for developing a positive thought-life. Mental health is possible!
If you ever struggle with anxiety, depression, temptation, negative thinking, or just overall mental health, this Sunday’s message is just for you! My message, “Managing Your Mind” will give you three daily habits to develop a healthy and holy mind. The Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Good News: A renewed mind is possible! You can win the battle taking place every day for your thoughts!
Join your friends at Grace Church this Sunday as we resume our two-service schedule with a 9:00 AM traditional service with hymn singing, and a 10:45 AM contemporary service with music led by our praise band. Both services feature the same uplifting biblical message, lively worship, warm friends, and the power of the Holy Spirit moving in our midst. Nursery and Busy Bags are available for children. Refreshments are served between the services. And, The Discovery Class for inquirers meets at 10:05 AM.
It’s going to be another Spirit-filled morning at Grace Church. Your presence is requested by God himself as He wants to meet you “at His house” before the big game this Sunday. Will you be there? Please invite your family and friends and prepare to be inspired, encouraged, and renewed in the power of the living and loving God!
