Don’t Give Up!
Life can be discouraging. Things don’t always go according to planned. Our hopes can be easily dashed by the realities of living in a broken world. Cancer ravages bodies. Relationships break down. Marriages end in divorce. Children die prematurely. A man loses his job. A woman sinks deeper into depression. Debt pulls us under. Health becomes fragile. Loneliness overwhelms us. Politics frustrate us. World events scare us. We get discouraged. We sometimes want to give up!
Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble” (John 16:33). And boy do we know that to be true! Who hasn’t experienced trouble of one kind or another? Let’s face it: Life in this world is not easy! Even for believers who hope in the return and fulfillment of the Kingdom of Jesus, life has a way of beating us down. Yet, in the face of all the hardship and heartache, Hebrews 12 encourages to “keep running the race with perseverance” and not give up. But how? How do we run in such a way to win?
Join us for a combined service of worship beginning at 10:00 AM this Sunday! Together, we’ll sing songs of spiritual significance, hear the Word of God proclaimed with power, witness the baptism of two little boys, and experience the peaceful healing presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. A nursery and children’s church are offered to little ones. Warm friends stand ready to greet you. All are welcome. Visitors expected. God himself will be present. Come, be encouraged in your faith!
