Encouragement for Moms

What a great day this Sunday, May 9 is going to be as we recognize and celebrate mothers from all walks of life!  Moms do so much that we can’t even imagine all the things they do for us and all ways they bless our lives.  The simple fact is:  None of us would be here without our mothers!  How many of you know that the job of being a mother can feel never-ending, demanding, and thankless at times?  Too often we take our mothers for granted.  Too often moms are under-appreciated and feeling overwhelmed.

The good news is:  Moms are not alone!  We can all feel overwhelmed with life from time to time.  Whether it’s a difficult marriage, parenting, relationships, grieving the loss of loved ones, loneliness, financial debt, a mounting workload, the demands of school, singleness, or health issues – life can be a real struggle at times.  So this Mother’s Day, we will consider the most famous mother of all - Mary the mother of Jesus.  How did she cope when feeling overwhelmed with the news of pregnancy?

Sunday’s message, “Feeling Overwhelmed,” will speak to persons from all walks of life as we consider three practical things that Mary did when she felt overwhelmed, and how these things can help us all deal with stress in our lives.  It’s a message of encouragement for mothers and for all.  Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature lively worship, an inspiring message, warm friends, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst!

Join us in person this Sunday.  And, please consider inviting a friend to come with you.  It’s going to be another great Sunday at Grace Church.  Your presence is requested!

Together in Christ,

Pastor Dave Van Netten
