Five Blind Men and an Elephant

A story is told about five blind men who encountered an elephant. One touched the beast’s leg and concluded that the animal was like a tree trunk. Another touched the ear and thought the animal was like a fan. The third handled its tail and declared that the animal was like a rope. Another man touched the elephant’s side and concluded the elephant was like a giant living bolder. The fifth man felt it’s trunk and said the elephant was similar to a snake. Who was right? They all were in their own limited experience!

This Sunday, August 8, we continue our new sermon series on Truth with a message focusing on the nature of truth. Could it be that truth is larger than what any one person could possibly understand or experience? If God is truth, then it stands to reason that each of us have only a limited view of truth because God is beyond human understanding. It’s going to be a mind-stretching, faith-building message you will not want to miss as I highlight five important characteristics of truth upon which we can all build our lives.

Our combined and musically-blended service of worship begins at 10:00 AM and features an inspiring message, heart-felt worship, supportive friends, and the life-giving presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Masks will be available for the unvaccinated and anyone who wants them. If you can’t make it in person, please watch or listen online later in the day. It’s going to be another great Sunday of worship at Grace Church. Please join us along with your family and friends as we gather in the power of the Spirit!
