God Bless the USA!

We have just celebrated the 247th birthday of our great nation!  It’s hard to believe “Uncle Sam” is really that old already.  Yet, in comparison to other nations of the world and especially those from the continents of Europe and Asia, we are a relatively young nation.  Still we have a lot to celebrate as a country.  We live in a land of abundance, freedom, and where the optimism of the “American Dream” still captures the hearts of people.  Yet, we are also a nation with serious maladies.

On this extended holiday weekend, I urge you to join your friends at Grace Church this Sunday, July 7, for a special patriotic service and for my message, “Healing Uncle Sam.”  How can we move forward through the divisions, factions, and struggles we face as a nation?  What hope is there for our future when so many seem to have abandoned God?   How can we continue to receive God’s blessing in an increasingly secular society?   2 Chronicles 7:11-16 offers us a way forward.

Let’s meet at 10:00 AM for this special service.  We’ll sing some of our favorite patriotic hymns.  We’ll recognize and honor all veterans.  We’ll hear God’s Word proclaimed.  And, we’ll be inspired and encouraged along the way.  The Holy Spirit will meet us this Sunday, offering hope and healing to all who gather.  A nursery and Busy Bags will be provided for children.  Refreshments will be served following the service in the Fellowship Hall while men are invited to meet for prayer.

It’s going to be another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church.  And, I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones will join us.  Please forward this email or share this post and/or reach out to those around you.  Let’s pack the house to the glory of God.  Let’s prepare today to worship God in spirit and in truth.  We’ll celebrate our great nation and find hope for our future. Veterans are invited to wear your uniforms, if you like.  May God bless the United States of America.  See you Sunday!
