How’s Your Vision?
Over the last six months, I’ve noticed that my vision isn’t quite as sharp as it used to be. I thought it’d be a good idea to schedule an appointment with my eye doctor. So I called his office. The receptionist told me he’s booked but can see you in a couple of months. Next week Tuesday, I finally get to so see my eye doctor. I’m pretty sure I’ll need an increase in the power of my contact lens prescription. Oh, the joys of getting older! How’s your vision these days? Perhaps you can relate.
Organizations need clear vision also. Grace Church has a vision. God gave it to me nearly 27 years ago while I was being interviewed to become your next pastor. My heart was impressed with these words: “Grace Church - a place where ordinary people experience God’s extraordinary grace!” It sounds nice. But what does it mean? One thing I know is that “vision leaks”. So this Sunday, August 4, we’re going to do a vision check. We’re going to refresh our vision and mission as a church.
Please join us for a 10:00 AM combined worship service featuring a blend of hymns and contemporary songs. I’ll bring a message based on Habakkuk 2:2-3 entitled, “Vision Check.” A Nursery and Busy Bags will be available for children along with our new Children’s Church ministry during worship. As it’s the first Sunday of the month, refreshments will be served following worship. All men are invited to join together in the education wing at around 11:15 AM for a time of prayer and support.
It’s going to be another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church. And I sincerely hope you and your loved ones will join us. Please reach out and bring a friend. Or, simply forward this email or share a Facebook post with others. The worship will be uplifting. The message will be inspiring. Warm friends will greet you. Visitors are expected. And the presence of the Holy Spirit will be moving in our midst to heal, restore, and revive broken people like you and me. Come, be revived with us!
