Is the End Near?

If you are paying attention to world events and biblical prophecy, you have to wonder if the end of the world is near.  Are we living in the end times?  Is the return of Jesus imminent?  Will this world soon be wiped away and replaced by the Kingdom of God?  These are good questions asked by thinking people who have an eye on biblical prophecy as well as current world events.  So, what does the Bible say about these things?  What did Jesus say about “the end”?  Is the end of the world coming soon? 

Our ongoing study of the Gospel of Mark takes us to one of the most talked-about sermons of Jesus found in Mark 13.  It is a controversial passage highlighting many “signs of the end of the age.”  So what are these signs?  How can we know if the end of the world is near?  Books have been written on the subject.  Movies have been made.  Theologians debate the issues.  Television evangelists love to preach on it.  But could it be that Jesus wants us to take a different approach?  Are we are missing something?
