Memory Problems
There’s a joke about an elderly man who says he lost three things: ‘I lost my car keys, my reading glasses, and … I can’t remember the third thing!” he says. Of course, the third thing is his memory. Perhaps you can relate. As we age, dietary supplements such as Prevagen and Ginkgo Biloba might appear on your shopping list. Truth is, everyone has trouble remembering things sometimes. Afterall, we have PIN numbers, passwords, and Social Security numbers to remember. How do we do it?!
This Memorial Day weekend is a time to remember. We remember loved ones gone before. We remember the sacrifice of those who served in the military. And, we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to fight for the freedoms we so enjoy in America. But this Sunday is also Graduate Sunday at Grace Church. Therefore, let us also be guided by King Solomon and the wisdom of Scripture in remembering five critical things that graduates and all of us must never forget.
Please join us this Sunday as we come together for one combined and musically-blended service of worship beginning at 10:00 AM. We’ll hear an inspiring biblical message, sing a couple of hymns, sing a couple of praise choruses, offer our prayers, give an offering, and recognize and honor our 2024 high school graduates. A nursery space is available for little ones and Busy Bags are available for children who remain in the sanctuary. And the Holy Spirit has promised to be in our midst!
This weekend is for remembering – veterans, loved ones gone before, our graduates, and five biblical priorities that can shape our lives toward God. I will also present gifts to our three graduates and we’ll learn a little about their future plans. A graduate reception will follow the service with a special cake and beverages for all. It’s going to be another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church. Please plan to join us for 10:00 AM worship, and the fellowship time following in honor of our graduates!
