Mustard Seed Spirituality

Last week, we examined the Parable of the Mustard Seed.  We learned that though the mustard seed starts small, looks weak, and often appears defeated – it has the potential to make a powerful impact.  It may not look like much in the eyes of the world.  It may be dismissed by many as insignificant.  It may even be laughed at by a society that prides itself on bigger and better, large and lustrous, powerful and prestigious.  Yet, from such small beginnings, a tree is born.  And so it is in the Kingdom of God.

This Sunday, God is inviting us to dig deeper into this parable and consider the definition of success.  If mustard seed spirituality isn’t about large numbers and mega churches, then what is it about?  How do we measure growth and success, if not by the metrics of the world?  What makes mustard seed churches like Grace Church successful in God’s eyes?  Please join me along with your family and friends for a provocative message entitled, “A New Scorecard,” highlighting six measurements of mustard seed spirituality.

Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM.  Both services feature the same biblical message, lively worship, warm friends, and the healing power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst.  A nursery and Busy Bags are provided for children.  Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall for all between services.  And a recording of the latter service will be posted online for all to view by early afternoon.  Come, find hope, healing, and happiness in Jesus with us!
