Sunday in the Park

What a joy it will be to worship God this Sunday, June 19 in the greatest sanctuary ever built – the great out-of-doors! And, what an opportunity to reach out and invite people to join us who might otherwise be reluctant to enter the doors of a church building. Have you extended your invitations yet? It’s not too late to reach out and invite your family, friends, neighbors, and/or even total strangers to come join us this Sunday at as we gather at Hope Martin Park (on Fletcher between University & Hwy 63) of Waterloo!

The day will begin with worship at 10:00 AM featuring an evangelistic message for Father’s Day entitled, “Our Heavenly Father,” and praise music led by our “Spirit of Grace” praise band. Following worship, we’ll indulge in a picnic potluck with hamburgers and hotdogs served hot-off the grill. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share if you can. Beverages and table service will be provided. Games, face-painting, and balloon art will be available for the children following the meal. It’s all free and everyone is invited!

Hope Martin Park is handicapped accessible complete with level sidewalks, plenty of parking (some will be designated handicapped), clean restrooms, drinking fountains, a children’s playground, and a brand-new shelter with beautiful picnic tables. You may want to bring some sunblock and/or bug spray. Please bring a lawn chair to sit on. But most of all, bring yourself, an open heart, and a friend or family member. Pray for good weather, great worship, visitors and guests, and a working of the Spirit in our midst!
