Sunday in the Park
Our second “Sunday in the Park” of the summer will be held this Sunday, August 13 at Galloway Park, just kiddy-corner from the church building, on the corner of Stratford and Maxwell Streets in Waterloo. And, you, your family, friends, co-workers, classmates, neighbors, and total strangers are invited to join us for this special morning!
We’ll worship in the greatest sanctuary ever built – the great out-of-doors – beginning at 10:00 AM. I’ll bring a message of hope and encouragement entitled, “What Jesus Does,” highlighting the benefits and blessings of following Jesus. Our “Spirit of Grace” praise band will lead us in worship with a variety of music, including a few old hymns as well as upbeat contemporary songs. Dress is informal. Handicapped parking will be available. And, a golf cart with seats will shuttle those who have trouble walking.
Following worship, we’ll enjoy an old-fashion picnic and potluck with hamburgers and hotdogs served hot-off the grill and plenty of side dishes and yummy desserts provided by the people of Grace Church. The food will be free and plentiful. Table service and cold beverages will be provided. Picnic tables, restrooms, and playground are available to us at the park. Games with prizes for children will follow the picnic, including face-painting and balloon art. So bring the children and grandchildren!
All are invited. All are welcome. All will be blessed. Don’t forget a chair or blanket to sit on. And please reach out to invite anyone and all whom you can. In case of bad weather, we’ll move all the worship, picnic, and games back to the church building. So, let’s pray for good weather, a great turn-out, and a Spirit-filled day at the park with family and friends. Use the flyer on our Events Page of this web site to reach out and invite someone. May we gather this Sunday to glorify our great & gracious God!
