The Worship God Likes
Have you ever wondered if God has a preferred worship style? Does God like traditional worship with hymns sung to organ accompaniment? Or, might God prefer contemporary worship with guitar, keyboards, and drums? Does God enjoy worship that is reverent or rambunctious, silent or celebrative? If Jesus were to attend Grace Church, which service do you think he would most enjoy? What kind of worshippers does God seek? Would the people of Grace Church be among them?
Join us this Sunday, August 29, as we explore these questions and more in my message, “God’s Worship Style,” based on John 4:19-24. The “worship wars” have gone on for decades and longer. So, let’s take a look at the Bible to see what Jesus reveals about God’s preferred “worship style.” Together, we’ll discover at least three ways to make our worship better and more true for God. Come, let us “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” (Psalm 100:4).
Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM. Both services feature the same Bible-based message, great worship, warm friends, and the healing presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Refreshments will be served between services in our Fellowship Hall. Masks and hand sanitizer is available. Check-out the service online later in the day if you can’t make it in person. Feel free to invite a friend or family member. I look forward to seeing in worship this Sunday!
