Unpacking Easter

What do you do when you receive a special gift?  I’m guessing you would probably open it.  If it had a practical purpose, you would likely use it.  Most all of the gifts we receive at Christmas, birthdays, graduations, weddings, or any other special occasion, we would open eagerly and enjoy.  So, what a about the gift of Easter?  What about the gift of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead?  It’d be a shame if we just moved on now to ‘business as usual’ and had a ‘one and done’ celebration last Sunday.

It’s time to “unpack” the gift of Easter this Sunday morning, April 24 at Grace Church!  Let’s dig deeper into the meaning and miracle of the resurrection and let our hearts and minds be moved by it.  Let’s simmer and marinade in its meaning, soaking it deeply into our souls.  For the miracle of Easter is too great to simply gloss over with a single Sunday celebration.  Please join me this Sunday for a powerful message in which I highlight five practical and life-changing truths revealed by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM and features a special hymn sing of some favorite hymns accompanied by guitar.  Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM and features the lively praise music of our “Spirit of Grace” praise band.  A nursery is provided at the latter service.  Both services feature a biblical message, heart-felt worship, warm friends, and the healing presence of the Holy Spirit moving and working in our midst.  Refreshments will be served between services for all in our Fellowship Hall.

It’s going to be another fabulous weekend at Grace Church as we continue our celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead!  The ‘Women of Joy’ Bible study will meet this Saturday at 1:00 PM for a study of Mary Magdalene.  This Sunday is also the last Sunday to donate items for the NE Iowa Food Bank as The ROCK youth group delivers the food barrels on Wednesday, April 27.  The Lord Jesus wants to meet you this Sunday at Grace Church.  He is ready and willing to renew your life.  Will you be present to let him?
