Who is God?
Do you ever wonder what God is like? Is God loving, kind, gracious, and good? Or, is God harsh, judgmental, angry, and mean? Is God a physical being, or a spiritual being? Does God want our lives to be smooth and easy? Or does God sometimes allow us to suffer and feel pain? There are many ideas about God among people today. And not all of them are true. Sometimes we create a false picture in our minds of what God is like even though it may have little to do with the God of the Bible.
This Sunday, the disciple Peter reveals that he has a false idea of what Jesus is like. He had a view of Jesus, but it wasn’t true. He rebuked Jesus. But Jesus had to also rebuke Peter for believing a lie. Our message, “My Imaginary God,” will challenge your thinking and belief in God in a whole new way. Together, we’ll take a look at Peter’s mistake. And we’ll explore four possible ways we also might create an imaginary God in our minds – one which has little to do with the real Jesus of the Bible.
Traditional worship begins at 9:00 AM. Contemporary worship begins at 10:45 AM. Both services feature the same inspiring message, heart-felt worship, a nursery space, Busy Bags for children, warm friends, and the healing power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Refreshments for all will also be served in the Fellowship Hall between services. It’s going to be another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church. Please join us with your friends and plan to be renewed in your walk with Jesus!
